Kernow Horizons CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company dedicated to empowering individuals through practical skills and personalised mentoring. Based in Cornwall, we specialise in providing alternative education and support designed to meet the unique needs of young people and adults facing a wide range of barriers—whether in schooling, employment, or everyday life.

Within our organisation, we are proud to have an extremely experienced sash window manufacturer and repairer with many years of hands-on expertise. There isn’t a type of sash window he hasn’t mastered—from traditional single and double-hung sashes to more complex heritage designs. This deep knowledge underpins our sash window repairs and restoration programme.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between traditional trade skills and the people who need them most—especially those who are disadvantaged, excluded, or struggling to access mainstream opportunities. By teaching essential sash window maintenance—such as rope changes, cill repairs, draught proofing, and more—we provide meaningful hands-on training, build confidence, and open pathways to employment, personal development by learning many transferable skills for future employment. 

As a registered CIC, all profits are reinvested back into our community-focused projects. We believe that preserving Cornwall’s architectural heritage and supporting individuals to learn valuable heritage skills go hand in hand creating brighter futures and stronger communities.
